The Marshall Thundering herd was informed today that their football coach Doc Holliday will not be renewing his contract. For the second time this season, the Marshall Football Team will end an extended break on Saturday. The 2020 college football season has reached a tipping point after the Big Ten and Pac-12 conferences announced last week that only conference games would be played. West Virginia athletic director and vice president Jerry Jerome said Monday that the school immediately formed a search committee to find candidates to run the schools' football program.

Huntington, WV, is a great place to try skiing and snowboarding, as well as other sports in the area. In this area you will find many opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, ice skating, cross-country skiing or snowshoeing!

Check out the ferry to hike the Appalachian Trail, a path that stretches along the east coast of the United States from Georgia to Maine. The trail only runs about four miles across the state, but it's one of my favorite hiking trails in the country.

The field house was home to Marshall University's basketball teams until the Cam Henderson Center was completed in 1981. The arena was home to the short-lived Hornets basketball team in the West Virginia Public Catholic League during the 1956-57 season. In 1979, the public Catholic League merged with the East Virginia League of Catholic High School Basketball (ECHSHL), and the arena has since hosted a number of high school and college basketball games for both leagues. It has alternated between hosting the national championships, but it is the Big Sandy Superstore Arena that has moved to its current location in the west of the city, south of Main Street.

On February 10, 2012, the first basketball game of Big Sandy Superstore Arena against the University of North Carolina took place in Chapel Hill (UNH).

With no fans in the building and no COVID-19 restrictions, this building felt like a neutral place for both teams. West Virginia faced South Dakota State in a classic, and without a fan, it felt like a "neutral place" for both teams. With no spectators, West Texas A & M (UT) and North Carolina (UNC) will compete at Big Sandy Superstore Arena on February 10, 2012. On February 11, 2013, the first basketball game of the season on the campus of the University of North Virginia in Morgantown (WVU), the two teams faced each other with a score of 3: 1.

The Owls were originally scheduled to be in Huntington in early October, but an NCAA ruling was issued prohibiting the use of college venues - which do not belong to conference games - in the city. That prompted Rice to stop playing football in September, and the university agreed to allow St. Joseph Catholic High School to move home games to the Henderson Center, which made the project possible. Marshall had an interesting September story before the pandemic forced most schools to tear up their timetables. Since the pandemic is forcing most schools to cut their timetables, Marshall has had some interesting October dates since the start of the 2012-13 school year. Since the pandemic requires the cancellation of all scheduled dates, Marshall will have had an interesting August review since being expelled from the program.

Marshall is ranked 15th in the Associated Press-Coaches poll, but there are two games against top-10 teams at Washington State and Virginia Tech. Last week was the last scheduled week for Old Dominion, which will not play football this fall because it plays Sunday at Washington State.

Stefanski tested positive on Tuesday and will not train with the team for the rest of the season because of a possible coronavirus infection. Conference USA gave Marshall a home game after the league decided to cancel its scheduled December 11 game against Charlotte and instead let Charlotte play the same night in Huntington. Marshall had to postpone his game at Virginia Tech last week because the Thundering herd didn't have enough players available because of a coronovirus contact injury.

The seventh basketball game between the Huskies and the Wildcats, scheduled for Friday, has been postponed to 19th place due to a problem with the Huskies' program. The Atlantic Coast Conference has postponed its home game against Florida State, scheduled for Saturday, because of a possible coronovirus contact injury to one of its players. Virginia Tech's home games against North Carolina State and Notre Dame were postponed for the same reason as their games were scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
